Immigrate to Alberta
The province of Alberta manages its provincial nominations through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), which replaced the former AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program). The province issues nominations to workers that have necessary skills to fill job shortages in the province or to people who are planning to acquire or start their new business in the province.
The AAIP allows eligible candidates to receive a nominations from the province and then apply for Permanent Residence to the IRCC. However, even though the province of Alberta issues a nomination, it is in fact a federal government who makes final decisions on the PR applications. If the PR application submitted with the provincial nomination is approved, the nominee is required to settle in the province.

Streams for workers
Alberta Opportunity Stream
Qualified candidates who live and work in Alberta and have a job offer from an Alberta employer can apply for an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program nomination.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Qualified candidates with an Express Entry profile may be invited by AAIP to apply for nomination for permanent residence.
Rural Renewal Stream
Qualified candidates with a job offer to work in a rural Alberta community can apply for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.
Streams for entrepreneurs
Rural Entrepreneur Stream
Immigrant entrepreneurs who want to start a business or buy an existing business in a rural Alberta community can apply for Permanent Residence in Canada.
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
The stream for international graduates of approved Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to start a business or buy an existing business.
Farm Stream
This stream is for entrepreneurs who have the financial resources and farm management experience to establish a new or purchase an existing farm in Alberta.
Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
An immigration program for qualified foreign educated graduates from outside of Canada who want to launch start-up enterprises and innovative businesses in Alberta.
